Drew, Krystal, & Cougar's Story

Starting over...Last week Army Sgt. Drew Miller and his family were visiting family in Oskaloosa when he learned his home had burnt to the ground. They had nothing left but the 2 suitcases they brought with them. Drew was on leave, he had just gotten back from a fifteen month combat tour from Operation Enduring Freedom. I was asked to donate my time to start creating new memories for them, which I was happy to do.

Theo, Tucker and Family!

Theo & Tucker came to see me a few months ago when Tucker was just a newbie. The acorns are popular with the kids latley and they all seem to be little squirrels running around collecting them. Theo had a handful of acorns in his little hands for every shot. I had to laugh! Kids! What can you do? Roll with it! ;)

Elliette's 1st Birthday!

Happy Birthday Elliette! I've been taking Elliette's photos since she was a newborn. In fact we did her newborn shoot at the same location (how fitting!) Although this time she was stuffed into baskets, and snuggled in blankets. She had multiple outfits and a cake to smash up! Isn't that what birthdays are all about girls...?

Paxton's Newborn Shoot!

Baby Paxton took a while to relax and snuggle in, but once he settled down we were good to go.

Holly's Senior Session!

What's with seniors and their fear of bugs...? Holly and I laughed a lot during her shoot she was always on the look out for spiders where ever we went. I had to go in to scout out the area before she could enter. We had a perfect day last week - the weather was still warm and no WIND! Holly had a great personality and was really fun to work with.

Jack!

Jack really made me work for every smile. He is very shy and quite and took a long time to warm up. But soon he was running around. Just another great thing about on-location photography! There is always something else to move onto for a distraction. It all worked out perfectly!

Family shots at Jester Park

I think I heard mom say they hadn't had family photos done in 7 years... I'd say now is a pretty good time!

Adam's Senior Session!

We did part of Adam's session in Dallas Center and part in Adel. He's a baseball player so we hit the DC-G baseball field and a nearby grain area. Adam's mom came along to get those real smiles from him, which worked great. That is until he stopped in his tracks when he saw any kind of spiders. Let's just say I was doing the killing ;)

Fall Family Pictures

This again is at Jester Park, towards the back of the park there is a pond and once the leaves start to change it is an awesome site. Mason & Emma were some of the easiest kids yet to photograph. We did the 30 min max session last Sunday and it worked perfect for them. They are going to have a tone of photos to choose from!

Jester Park

Extended family photos at Jester Park! It's a great place to go for a trees and green setting. There is tons of shade, not a lot of distractions and a very good option for a photo location.

Farm Settings!

Farms are always great settings for photos - no matter how old and worn they are! And if you ask me, the older the better! If you have access to a farm I highly suggest it for a session location.
